5. Privacy Policy and Data Practices

5.1 Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how SALE (“we”, “our”, or “the App”), operated by Jhon Vélez, collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our web app, Android app, or website saleapp.co.

By creating an account or using SALE, you accept the practices described in this document. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

5.3 Information we collect

We may collect the following categories of data:

  • Account data: name, email address, phone number, password (stored in encrypted form), and billing or subscription details when applicable.
  • Service usage data: technical information such as device type, operating system, app identifiers, activity logs, errors, and performance metrics to improve the product.
  • Portfolio data entered by the user: client, sales, payment, collection, and document information that you or your collaborators upload to SALE (for example names, phone numbers, amounts, or notes).
  • Communications: messages you send us through WhatsApp, email, or other support channels.

5.4 Third-party data (your clients)

SALE is a management tool. When you register data about your clients or debtors, you are responsible for having the authorization or legal basis needed to process that information, according to applicable law (in Colombia, Law 1581 of 2012 and related rules).

SALE acts as a data processor for that information: we store and process it only to provide the service you contracted, according to your instructions and this policy.

5.5 How we use the data

  • Create and manage your account and subscription plans.
  • Provide App features: clients, sales, payments, reports, receipts, and synchronization.
  • Provide technical support and respond to requests.
  • Improve the security, stability, and quality of the product.
  • Send operational notices (service changes, security, or billing).
  • Comply with legal obligations when required.

We do not sell your personal data or your clients’ data to third parties for advertising purposes.

5.6 Legal basis and consent

We process your account and usage data based on performance of the service contract and, when applicable, your consent or our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the platform. For your clients’ data, the legal basis must be managed by you as the controller of those individuals.

5.7 How we share information

We may share information only in these cases:

  • Infrastructure providers: hosting, cloud storage, analytics, or notification services, under confidentiality agreements and only to operate SALE.
  • Legal requirements: when a competent authority requests it in accordance with the law.
  • Collaborators on your account: if you invite sellers or other users, they may see the information you enable for them inside the App.

5.8 Storage and security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information (access control, encryption in transit when applicable, backups, and monitoring). No system is 100% secure; we recommend using strong passwords and not sharing your credentials.

Data may be stored on servers located in Colombia or in other countries where our cloud providers operate, while maintaining adequate protection levels.

5.9 Data retention

We keep your information while you maintain an active account and for any additional time needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable period, except for legally required retention.

5.10 Your rights

As a personal data subject, you may request, according to applicable law:

  • Access to your data.
  • Update or correction.
  • Deletion when applicable.
  • Withdrawal of consent, when processing is based on it.
  • Proof of how your data has been used.

5.11 Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use cookies or local storage to remember preferences (for example language or theme) and improve the experience. You can configure your browser to limit or delete cookies; some features may be affected.

5.12 Minors

SALE is intended for adults with legal capacity to contract. We do not intentionally collect data from anyone under 18. If you find that a minor registered, contact us to delete that account.

5.13 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will publish the current version on this page with the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after a relevant change means you are aware of the new version.
